The Mustangs punch their ticket to the North Atlantic District Championship

The Mustangs punched their ticket to the North Atlantic District Championship with an impressive 85-65 victory over Camden County College on February 26.

Montgomery County Community College controlled the game from the start, building a 42-16 halftime lead behind strong defensive pressure and balanced scoring. The Mustangs carried that momentum into the second half, adding 43 more points to secure the 20-point win.

MCCC shot 43.5% from the field and dominated inside, scoring 38 points in the paint while adding 14 second-chance points. The Mustangs also converted 25 free throws and finished with 16 assists as a team. Defensively, they held Camden to just 35.9% shooting and 20% from three-point range, limiting offensive rhythm all night.

Matthew Williams led the way with 16 points, knocking down seven free throws while adding five rebounds and three assists. Qudire Bennett added 15 points and four rebounds, while Kevin Addison-Anderson contributed 13 points on an efficient 5-of-8 shooting performance. Tariq Jennings filled the stat sheet with 12 points, four assists, and three rebounds, and Isaac Cole chipped in 10 points including two three-pointers.

The Mustangs' depth and defensive intensity proved to be the difference, as they turned 17 Camden turnovers into 15 points and maintained control throughout both halves.

With the win, Montgomery County advances to the North Atlantic District Championship, where they will face #1 seed Salem Community College at Northampton Community College.
