Mustangs Topple Bulldogs
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs volleyball team downed the Bergen Community College Bulldogs in a three set sweep.
The Mustangs defeated the Bulldogs 25-5, 25-10 and 25-12 Wednesday evening in a full team effort.
The team totaled 19 aces in the effort, led by Nikki Reichert, who racked up eight. Briana Rodriguez led the team in kills with seven, followed by Brianna Musselman who garnered five. The Mustangs earned 32 total kills in the match.
The Mustangs racked up 30 digs, eight of which came from second year sophomore Mel Angelucci. Kaitlynn Franks served up 25 of the team's 31 assists.
Paulette Hamilton performed well in blocks for the evening, touching several balls and slowing down the play so the Mustangs back-row defenders could make perfect passes and run a quick offense.
Paulette Hamilton said of the performance, "I thought tonight was a good game and we worked well together as a team to come out victorious. I am looking forward to the rest of the season."
