Mustangs Take Down Vikings 59-49

The Montco Women's basketball team defeated the Ocean County College Vikings by a final score of 88-37. The Mustangs stifled the Vikings early on, outscoring them by 29 points in the first half. The Mustangs never looked back, giving up only 13 points in the entire second half en route to their 51-point victory. Montco picked up their 8th win of the season, including their third straight, improving to 8-4 on the season.

Koumba Samassa led the Mustangs in scoring and rebounds in the contest as she finished with 26 points (12-17 FG), 12 rebounds and 3 steals, recording her 3rd straight double-double. Aniya Boland poured in an efficient 24 points (10-19 FG) to go along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals in the contest. Rachel Dunn finished one rebound short of a double-double, contributing 12 points (5-10 FG) and 9 rebounds, while Ti'eisha Walker stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points (4-11 FG), 8 assists, and 6 steals.

The Mustangs have a long break before their next matchup, where they will look to build on their current win streak and extend it to 4 games, with a chance to clinch the EPAC banner against Lehigh Carbon Community College (6-8) on Thursday, Feb 8. The matchup will be the first of a 5-game home stint to finish off the regular season, and will be held at 5 p.m. All home games are held at the Health and Sciences Center at Montco's Blue Bell campus in the main gym.
