Mustangs Take Down CCP 54-29

The Montgomery County Community College women's basketball team picked up their second straight win against the Community College of Philadelphia and improve to 2-0 on the season. The Mustangs' dominant performance on the defensive end helped the Mustangs get ahead early in this matchup, and they never looked back. The final score was 54-29.
With only five players available for the second straight game, the Mustangs showed heart and energy from the tip-off to the final buzzer, executing spectacular plays on both sides of the ball for all 40 minutes. Only giving up 7 points in each of the first two quarters, the Mustangs led 29-14 at half-time and extended their lead in the third quarter, only giving up 4 points in the third. The Mustangs forced 31 turnovers from CCP throughout the matchup, and held them to just 35 shots for the entirety of the game. Montco won the rebounding contest 43-30, with freshman Koumba Samassa leading the charge.
Koumba Samassa posted her first 20-20 game of the season, stuffing the stat sheet with 26 points and 23 rebounds (16 Offensive Rebounds), as well as 7 steals on the game. Freshman Ti'eisha Walker ended with 7 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals while Erionnah Fleming-Shelley poured in 9 points and 6 rebounds in the matchup.
