The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs lost 54-61 to the Luzerne County Community College Trailblazers.
The Trailblazers held a 30-24 lead after the first half, but the Mustangs closed the gap in the second. The teams battled back and forth for much of the game until the Trailblazers secured the win with a rally in the final two minutes of the game.
For the Mustangs new addition Ashley Waters notched 18 points, followed by sophomore Amelia Stockman with 15 and freshman Mallory Mugnier with 12.
Mustangs Head Coach Kelly Donohue commented on the effort. "I was proud of the ladies today. They fought until the end, but just came up short."
Next the Mustangs face the Centurions of Bucks County Community College at home on Tuesday. Tip off is 5:00 p.m.
