Women's Basketball Defeats Sussex
Newton, N.J. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team defeated the Sussex County Community College Skylanders 57-41 Saturday.
The Mustangs posted to the board first and maintained the lead throughout the competition. The team was up 26-20 at half time and expanded upon that lead during the second half to ultimately win by 16.
Mercedes Harris led the charge with 24 points, followed by teammate Janay Winston with 17. Defensively, Carla Sirak played an excellent game.
The Mustangs are now 11-3 overall, 7-0 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference. Next the team will travel to Burlington County College on Thursday Jan. 13 for a 5:00 p.m. tip off.
