Mustangs Women's Basketball Beats Trailblazers 59-46
In Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference action Saturday the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs beat the Luzerne County Community College Trailblazers 59-46.
The Mustangs got off to a rough start early in the game but the second half efforts of Mercedes Harris (Norristown), Janay Winston (Phoenixville), and Jennifer Kopsie (Plymouth Whitemarsh) got the team back on track. Harris led the Mustangs with 18 points while Winston and Kopsie posted 9 a piece.
“After a slow start, we picked up the intensity in the second half to get the win,” commented Mustangs Head Coach Kelly Donohue.
Also contributing to a solid second half effort was Lauren Zoltek (Lansdale Catholic) with 9 offensive rebounds. The victory brings the women’s basketball team’s record to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference.
