Mustangs Win Two Games Over Phantoms
Blue Bell, Pa. � The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women�s softball team beat the Delaware County Community College Phantoms 19-4 and 18-14 on Tuesday, Apr. 20, 2010.
In game one Katelyn Mullen (Collegeville) and Janay Winston (Phoenixville) racked up two hits and four runs apiece. Katelyn Mathe (North Penn) also had two hits. In game two Mullen earned five RBIs and three hits, Mathe and Mary Thornton (Wissahickon) had two hits each, and Shannon Black (Cardinal Dougherty) and Melissa Alpuche (Lansdale Catholic) scored four runs apiece, bringing the Mustangs from being for the win. Alpuche was the winning pitcher in both games.
The Mustangs softball team is now 11-18 overall (3-13 NJCAA Region XIX Division III). Next the team will host Ocean County College for a double header on Thursday, Apr. 22. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
