Colts Slide Past Mustangs
Blue Bell, Pa. � The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women�s softball team lost 4-5 and 5-6 to the Middlesex County College Colts Sunday, Apr. 11, 2010.
In close competition, the Mustangs offense posted a strong showing with three hits from Mary Thornton, two runs from Samantha Reeves, and two hits and two RBIs from Katelyn Martin. The Mustangs pitchers also performed well. In game one Lisamarie Murray pitched seven innings issuing four strikeouts and allowing only four walks. Melissa Alpuche pitched game two, walking five batters.
The Mustangs softball team is now 6-12 overall (2-8 NJCAA Region XIX Division III). Next the team hosts Gloucester County College for a double header on Monday, Apr. 12. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
