Game Recap: Men's Soccer Takes Win Over Delaware

The Mustangs men's soccer team defeated the Delaware County Community College Phantoms 1-0 Tuesday. 

The game was a solid match up between the teams, in which the Mustangs saw a number of great scoring opportunities.

Late in the first half, it was sophomore Brian Maguire who clenched the victory for the Mustangs with the team's first and game-winning goal. At 43:00 minutes into the first half, Maguire collected a cleared Phantom's ball and booted it towards goal from the half field line. The shot hit its mark, sailing just over the keeper's head, giving the Mustangs the 1-0 victory.

Mustangs Head Coach Matt Giordano praised his team's effort in the win. "We finally came together as a team again. It was a pleasure to watch, we possessed the ball extremely well and created a lot of offensive opportunities."

Giordano is optimistic that his team can repeat the performance moving forward. "If we continue to play the way we did against Delaware, we will have a successful remainder of the season and our post-season should be successful as well."
