Game Recap: Men's Soccer Falls to Manor

The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men's soccer team lost 0-3 to the Manor College Blue Jays on Saturday.

The Blue Jays came out firing on their home field and scored on the Mustangs within the first five minutes of play. The Mustangs tried to stave off the initial attack but succumbed to another goal a few minutes later, to fall behind by two less than ten minutes into the competition.

Once the Mustangs were down 0-2, the team was able to rally and hold off the fast, offensive-minded Blue Jays through the remainder of the first half and the majority of the second half. With some defensive adjustments in the second half, the Mustangs held an evenly played match until Manor notched their third and final goal with just minutes left in the game.

The Blue Jays outshot the Mustangs 15-14 and ultimately took home the 3-0 victory.

"I am proud that the guys fought all the way to the end," said Mustangs Head Coach Matt Giordano. "Even though we lost that game, we came away with some lessons and saw some good things from our team."

Giordano is already preparing for the teams' rematch at home on October 2nd.

"Manor was a very good team, probably one of the better ones we will face this season. I think with a couple of tactical changes, we can get a different result against them next time around."
