The Mustangs men's soccer team defeated the Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks 3-1 on Saturday.
The first half of the game was an even match up for the teams. About 16 minutes into play, Mustangs forward Sean Robinson intercepted a defensive clear from the Hawks to score the opening goal of the game. The Mustangs' 1-0 lead persisted throughout the half, sending the Hawks into half time at a deficit.
Coming into the second half the Hawks tried to recover but the Mustangs stepped up play to dominate the game. The Mustangs landed 15 shots on net, scoring first in the second half off a penalty kick just three minutes into the game. Robinson took the shot for his second goal of the game.
Ten minutes later Robinson found himself in front of the net once again and knocked in another ball to complete his hat trick.
Freshman teammates Anthony Defrancesco and Tymere Davis joined Robinson on the Mustangs' front line, showcasing a number of strong scoring chances. Sophomore goal keeper Edgar Ojeda made 15 saves in net.
"I'm proud of the guys for getting their first win," commented Mustangs Head Coach Matt Giordano. "It's not easy to do that on the road, especially after a long bus ride to Harrisburg. We dominated most of the game, but still need to finish our easy chances."
