Union Takes Down Men's Soccer
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs lost 1-4 to the Union County College Owls.
In the first half the Mustangs played a defensive game, trying to absorb the Owls' attack. With a number of dangerous offensive players, the Union team kept the Mustangs on their toes. After 45 minutes, the Owls walked away with three goals. The Mustangs had a few good scoring chances, but were unable to net any shots.
The second half proved to be much more successful for the Mustangs. The game was more evenly matched but the Mustangs let one slide by 15 minutes into play. Down 0-4, the Mustangs turned on the heat and were able to knock in a goal at the 80 minute mark.
Mustangs Head Coach Matt Giordano thought the game was a lot closer than the score indicates. "Union was a tough team but we played well. The score was not indicative of how the game played out. In my opinion they were not three goals better than us."
