Phantoms Top Mustangs
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs lost 63-74 to the Delaware County Community College Phantoms.
The Mustangs opened up scoring at 18:30 with a jump shot from Rasahn Brinkley. A pair of foul shots allowed the Phantoms to tie it up 2-2 at 17:00. After five minutes of play each team had only scored 2 points apiece. The game remained an even match up until the Phantoms start to pull away towards the end of the first half. The Phantoms gained a 16-10 lead with just over five minutes left and sent the Mustangs into the locker room behind 20-25.
The opening minutes of the second half went to the Phantoms, who scored 8 points in a row to lead 33-20. After a Mustangs time out at 17:40, the home team was finally able to post to the board. The Mustangs turned up the intensity to briefly shrink the gap, but the Phantoms wouldn’t let down.
By the 8:00 mark the Mustangs found themselves down 19 points, trailing the Phantoms 41-60. In the last three minutes of the game the Mustangs rallied to cut the deficit to 10 points but the Phantoms held strong to secure a 74-63 victory.
High scorers for the Mustangs were Rasahn Brinkley with 18 points, Dasahn Dyson with 12 and Omar Askia with 11.
