Lions Defeat Mustangs in Nonconference Play
The Mustangs looked strong at the start of the game winning the opening tip-off and posting to the scoreboard first. In back and forth action in the first half the Lions slowly inched ahead of the Mustangs, at one point gaining a 9 point lead on the home team.
But the Mustangs kept themselves in the game bouncing back from the deficit to end the first half trailing the Lions 31-34.
Starting the second half, the Mustangs once again scored first with a basket by freshman Adam Jones (North Penn). But the bump up was not enough to ignite the Mustangs’ fire. The Lions worked the net, slowly pulling away from the Mustangs, ultimately winning the game by 29 points.
The Mustangs’ record is now 10-4 overall, 9-0 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC). Next, the team will host Manor Junior College 3:00 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 9.
