Montgomery County Community College stages a dramatic late-game rally to defeat Camden County College

Montgomery County Community College staged a dramatic late-game rally to defeat Camden County College, 7–6, on April 6 in a thrilling comeback victory at home.

Camden jumped out early, scoring in each of the first two innings to take a 3–0 lead and eventually building a 6–3 advantage heading into the bottom of the ninth. The Mustangs, however, refused to back down.

With the game on the line, Montgomery delivered a clutch four-run ninth inning to walk it off. Timely hitting and aggressive baserunning fueled the comeback, as the Mustangs capitalized on their opportunities to secure the 7–6 win.

Mike Strechay led the offensive effort, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored, setting the tone all game. Brett Minnich added a key performance, finishing 2-for-5 including the walk-off home run and two RBIs. Nathan Woodbury contributed with two hits and a triple, while Adam Bastone chipped in an RBI.

On the mound, Chris Southard started and worked four innings, allowing four runs (three earned). Tyler Herbein was outstanding in relief, tossing five innings while giving up just two runs and striking out four to earn the win and keep Montgomery within striking distance.

Despite committing four errors, the Mustangs overcame defensive miscues with resilience and timely offense. The victory highlights Montgomery's ability to battle until the final out, using a complete team effort to secure an exciting comeback win.
