Montgomery County Community College delivered a statement performance in their three-game series against Bergen Community College, completing the sweep in dominant fashion behind explosive offense and strong pitching.


Game 1: Montgomery County 17, Bergen 7

Montgomery County rallied from an early deficit and broke the game open late with an 11-run surge across the sixth and seventh innings.

Brett Minnich led the charge with a 3-hit, 5-RBI performance, including a three-run home run, while Adam Bastone delivered the biggest swing of the game—a grand slam in the seventh inning to seal it. The Mustangs piled up 12 hits and showed patience at the plate with nine walks.

After Bergen briefly took the lead in the fifth, Montgomery responded immediately and never looked back, showcasing their ability to answer adversity with offense.


Game 2: Montgomery County 13, Bergen 1

Game two was all Montgomery County from the start, highlighted by a dominant complete-game performance on the mound by Mike Strechay.

Strechay was outstanding, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out 11 over seven innings. At the plate, he also contributed with an RBI and three runs scored, capping an all-around performance.

The Mustangs broke the game open in the fourth inning, erupting for eight runs. Joshua Camacho led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Brett Minnich added a bases-clearing triple as part of his three-RBI day. Montgomery capitalized on control issues from Bergen pitching, drawing nine walks and consistently putting pressure on the defense.


Game 3: Montgomery County 19, Bergen 0

Montgomery County closed out the series in dominant fashion with a 19–0 shutout, showcasing one of their most complete offensive performances of the season.

The Mustangs jumped out early with four runs in the first inning and never slowed down, adding five in the second and four more in the third to quickly put the game out of reach.

Brett Minnich delivered a monster game, going 3-for-4 with two home runs and 6 RBIs, while Asher Peterman added a home run, three RBIs, and four runs scored. Joshua Camacho also homered and drove in two, as Montgomery totaled 14 hits and eight walks.

On the mound, a combination of Mason Kishpaugh, Tyler Herbein, and Peterman held Bergen scoreless, completing the shutout effort.

Montgomery County's offense was the story of the series, scoring 49 total runs across three games. The lineup consistently produced from top to bottom, with standout performances from Brett Minnich, Adam Bastone, Joshua Camacho, and Asher Peterman.
