Mustangs Roll Past Luzerne 95–66 Behind Dominant Two-Way Performance

Montgomery County men's basketball delivered one of its most complete efforts of the season on Wednesday, overpowering Luzerne County Community College for a wire-to-wire 95–66 victory. The Mustangs set the tone early with a 45-31 first-half lead, then stepped on the gas out of the break, pouring in 50 second-half points to secure the 29-point win.

MCCC's efficiency was on full display, shooting 52.9% from the field and an impressive 50% from three, while holding Luzerne to just 30.4% shooting. The Mustangs pounded the paint for 56 points inside, turned defense into offense with 27 points off turnovers, and ran the floor for 24 transition points.

Matthew Williams led the balanced attack with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, attacking the rim relentlessly. Steven Hill provided a massive boost from deep, scoring 18 points while knocking down five threes on 5–6 shooting beyond the arc. Alantay Dawson added 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Tariq Jennings matched him with 13 points of his own.

Off the bench, Kevin Addison-Anderson was a force, finishing with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals in just 22 minutes, and Isaac Cole chipped in 7 points and 4 boards with a team-high +23 plus-minus.

Defensively, MCCC's pressure overwhelmed Luzerne all night. The Mustangs tallied 15 steals and forced 24 turnovers, using their deflections and ball pressure to control the tempo. Luzerne's A'maree Ellis (15 points) and Jaidyn Johnson (17 points) provided solid scoring, but the team struggled to generate efficient looks, shooting just 36.2% eFG%.

With the win, Montgomery County improves its momentum heading into the next stretch, showing a deep rotation, high-level efficiency, and the ability to dominate in transition and in the paint.
