Mustangs Take Down Northampton 4-1 in Spirit Game

The Montco Men's Soccer team piled on to their win streak with a dominant 4-1 win over the Northampton Community College Spartans on Thursday, October 5. On both offense and defense, the Mustangs showed out for their home crowd and set the tone early.

At the 7 minute mark, Freshman Ben Lare got into scoring position and was able to execute, giving the Mustangs a 1-0 lead early-on. At the 35:20 mark in the first half, Freshman Pedro Louissaint was awarded a penalty kick and scored his first goal of the day. Louissaint went on to score two more goals in the contest - one unassisted at the 63 minute mark, and the other just shortly after at minute 68:13, assisted by Sophomore Ben German on a perfect pass from the opposite end of the field.

The first Hat-trick of the year for the Mustangs, and the first of Pedro Louissaint's Montco career, came in exciting fashion as the entire team and coaches erupted for Louissaint as he exited the field.

Montco was able to contain Northampton well on the defensive end, getting stop after stop, as goalkeeper Gazi Cepele finished with 9 saves in the match. In the 76th minute, Montco gave up their only goal of the game.

With this win, Montco extended their win streak to 4 games, and will look to add on to that in their next game on Saturday, October 7 in an away game at Harrisburg Area Community College.

The Mustangs' next home game will be on Tuesday, October 10 vs. Delaware County Community College (0-11) at 3:30 P.M. on Montco's campus.
