Mustangs Graduate 32 Student-Athletes
Blue Bell, Pa. - The Montgomery County Community College
Mustangs athletics program is proud to honor 32 student-athletes
who have graduated this year. Current and former student-athletes
from all seven of intercollegiate sports were recognized by Dr.
Stout, President of the College, at the annual Mustangs Awards
Reception on Thursday May 10, 2012.
Director of Athletics, Bruce Bach, congratulated the
graduates. “I am extremely proud of these graduates. The
Mustangs athletic program is committed to academic success and
completion. We stress excellence on the field and in the classroom.
Our graduates set high standards for themselves and achieved their
goals as athletes and, most importantly, as students.”
Each of the graduates is on a unique path and looking forward to
the successful careers and lives ahead. Here are just a few of
their stories.
Melissa Alpuche, Softball &
Basketball
Melissa Alpuche played softball and basketball for the
Mustangs in 2009 and 2010. She is already enrolled at Temple
University as a sport and recreation management major and serves as
an assistant to Temple's Communications Athletic Director.
Additionally, she works as a player services coordinator and
promotions manager for the Philadelphia Freedom. Melissa aspires to
one day work in player services in the MLB or NHL.
Samantha Caltabiano, Soccer
Samantha Caltabiano played as a defender on the 2010
and 2011 Mustangs soccer squads. She is a liberal studies major who
is transferring to Texas A & M in the fall. There she will
major in International Studies with concentrations in Politics and
Diplomacy, Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. Samantha wants to
pursue a career in international relations concerning Middle
Eastern and Arabic countries.
Kenny Delbridge, Basketball
Kenny Delbridge played basketball for the Mustangs in the 2010 and
2012 seasons. A father of two, Kenny successfully balanced
athletics, family life, work and schooling to earn his associates
degree. In the fall he will be transferring to Philadelphia
University where he will major in psychology. Kenny aims to work in
the professional sports industry, possibly as a sports agent.
Tyler Gregg, Baseball
Tyler Gregg was a center-fielder for the Mustangs
baseball team in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. This year he was named
to the NJCAA Region 19 All-Region 2nd Team. He earned
the team's Most Valuable Player award and was named Mustangs Male
Student Athlete of the Year. He is graduating with a degree in
liberal arts and will be transferring to Penn State Main Campus in
the fall.
Tyler Guentter, Baseball
Tyler Guentter was a pitcher for the Mustangs baseball
team in 2010 and 2011 and graduated this past fall with an
associate's degree in Liberal Studies. He transferred to Arcadia
University, where he continued playing baseball this spring. At
Arcadia, Tyler is a class of 2013 Business Administration major and
is currently open to a number of career options after
graduation.
Mercedes Harris, Basketball
Mercedes Harris played basketball for the Mustangs,
earning over 1,000 career points during her two years on the squad.
She is a general studies major who will be transferring to
Immaculata University in the fall. At Immaculata Mercedes will
continue to play basketball and will major in nursing with a minor
in psychology. Mercedes looks forward to playing basketball as a
Mighty Mac and hopes to become a nurse anesthesiologist.
Bartley Jeannoute, Basketball
Bartley Jeannoute competed on the Mustangs basketball team and
will be graduating from Montgomery County Community College with a
degree in English. He will be transferring to Temple University in
the fall, where he will enroll as an English major. Bartley likes
classical American novels and enjoys indie folk music. Eventually
he wants to earn his MBA and work in education or
communications.
Adam Jones, Basketball
Adam Jones played basketball for the Mustangs in 2010
and 2011. He scored over 650 career points and was named 2011
Student Athlete of the Year. In the fall he is transferring to
Immaculata University where he will play basketball and major in
Exercise Science. Adam wants to be a physical therapist and remain
involved in sports throughout his life.
Samantha Reeves, Volleyball &
Softball
Samantha Reeves played softball and volleyball for the
Mustangs in 2010 and 2011. She was a member of the NJCAA Region 19
championship volleyball team and named All-Region First team in
2011. Samantha graduated in the fall and has already started her
studies in Art Education at Kutztown University. She hopes to
become a primary or secondary art teacher.
Amanda Slook, Volleyball
Amanda Slook is a volleyball player who helped the team earn the
EPCC Championship title in 2010. She is graduating with an
associate's degree in Secondary Education and is transferring to
West Chester University in the fall. At West Chester she will
complete a dual degree in special education and middle school
education, with a concentration in mathematics. Amanda is looking
forward to a career as a special education teacher.
Michael Suder, Baseball
Michael Suder played baseball for the Mustangs in the spring of
2011. He enjoys watching and playing all sports and has an affinity
for playing the guitar. He will be transferring to Eastern
University this fall, where he will play baseball for the Eagles.
Michael aims to complete his Bachelor's degree in Psychology and
wants to eventually become a psychologist and work in a private
practice.
Mike Wambold, Soccer
Mike Wambold played soccer for the Mustangs in 2009 and 2010 and
now serves as the men's team assistant coach. Mike will be
transferring to Gwynedd Mercy College in the fall, where he will
continue to play soccer and major in criminal forensics. Mike aims
to become a crime scene investigator and dreams of one day working
for the FBI.
Stephanie Wasniewski, Soccer
Stephanie Wasniewski played soccer for the Mustangs in the fall of
2010 and 2011. She is a general studies major who will be
transferring to Gwynedd Mercy College in the fall. At Gwynedd Mercy
she will be pursing her nursing degree in the College's rigorous
and well-known nursing program. Stephanie hopes to become a labor
and delivery nurse, and eventually be promoted to physician's
assistant.
