On Saturday, the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs traveled to Linden, N.J. to take on the Union County College Owls. The Mustangs had just come off their first win of the season and hoped to start a winning streak.
The Mustangs came out strong, keeping their opponent to score through the entirety of the first half. Both teams came out of halftime looking for their first goal of the game, but it was the Owls squad which was able to put the first point on the board. At 52:00, the Owls scored off of a header from a corner kick.
The Mustangs continued to play hard, and were determined to regain the lead. Freshman Trisha Sewak served in goal, blocking a total of 15 shots throughout the game. Despite the excellent performance, at 70:00 she allowed a second goal to slip by her to put the Owls up 2-0.
The Mustangs never did get on the board during the game and boarded the bus back to Blue Bell, Pa. nursing a 2-0 loss.
