Game Recap: Mustangs Off The Mark In 76-38 Loss

BLUE BELL, Pa. - For the third time in four games the Mustangs women's basketball team failed to top the 40-point mark, falling 76-38 at home to the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College.

Overall, it was a forgettable afternoon for head coach Vince Simmons' squad, which trailed 43-9 at halftime.

"We really struggled today on both sides of the court," Simmons said. "Communication has to improve defensively and we need to be more disciplined with our execution on offense."

Freshman guard Tayler Nicholson and freshman center Alexandria Somers scored 11 points apiece. Somers collected 7 rebounds, while Nicholson tallied 3 steals.

But it was far from enough as the Hawks averaged 50 percent shooting from the field. Harrisburg connected on 5 of 12 from three-point range and 13 of 18 chances at the foul line.

Next up for the Mustangs is a Tuesday evening game on the road at Northampton Community College, with tip-off set for 5 PM.
