The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women's basketball team lost 55-77 to the nationally ranked no. 10 Panthers of Passaic County Community College.
The Mustangs played a close game with the Panthers in the first half, trailing by only 10 points at 21-31 as the first half came to a close. With only four or five baskets between the two, the Mustangs aimed to close the gap in the second half. However, the Panthers held strong and extended the lead by another 12 points to win the game 77-55.
For the Mustangs, sophomore Amelia Stockman took the lead with 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Dayna McCrewell followed her up with 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Mallory Mugnier rounded out the strong performances with 15 points and a tally of five each of rebounds, assists and steals.
