The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs fell 42-51 to the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon Community College Tuesday.
The game started off with a 16-5 lead for the Cougars but the Mustangs were able to tie it up 22-22 just after the start of the second half. The Mustangs could not pull ahead as the Cougars held a firm 4-8 point lead for the remainder of play. Ultimately the Cougars came out on top for the 51-42 victory.
Sophomore Amelia Stockman led the Mustangs with 18 points, followed by Dayna McCrewell who notched 12. Also scoring for the Mustangs were Mallory Mugnier and Liz Keegn, both with six points. McCrewell led under the basket, securing her double-double with 1 rebounds. Mugnier contributed nine assists and five blocks in the effort. Along with Mugnier, newcomer Steph Martinez led the team with four steals.
The next Mustangs' home game will be against the Northampton Community College Spartans on Tuesday January 29th.
