Mustangs Softball: Mustangs Lose to Lions (Game 1)

Blue Bell, PA-- Despite out-hitting Raritan 14 to 11, the Mustangs were defeated, 18-10 in Game 1 of their doubleheader on Monday, April 17th against the Raritan Valley Community College Lions. (non-conference event)

The lions captured the lead in the first inning, but come time in the second inning, our Mustangs scored four runs The big inning was thanks to a stolen base , a triple by Sophomore Linda Sobeck #19 (Upper Merion /Early Education), and a walk.

As mentioned earlier, the Mustangs collected 14 hits which came from Sobeck. Sobeck went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Mustangs with 3 hits.

Freshman Shioban Seymour #13 (Methacton High School/ Criminal Justice) had 2 hits.

The remaining hits came from Sophomores Emma Hagel #1 (Norristown High School/ Business Administration),  Anna Morgan #12 (Plymouth Whitemarsh/ Liberal Studies), and Allison Henning #9 ((Norristown High School/ Business Administration) collected 2 hits each.

Henning and Morgan each accounted for two of the runs, as well as Freshman Haylie Brass #4 (Upper Dublin High School/ Liberal Studies) and Freshman Shannon Lee #3 (Souderton High School/ Phys Ed. & Health) who scored a run each.

Check game 2 to see the results. The Mustangs will also play against the Cumberland County Community College Dukes on Tuesday, April 18th at 3:30 in a non-conference double header event.

The Mustangs now have a conference record of 4-1 and are 6-7 overall.

The Mustangs are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX and the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC).
