The Mustangs fell behind early in game 2 on Sunday, April 9th against the Ocean County College Vikings. While managing to hold the Vikings to 2 consecutive scoreless innings (3rd and 4th), the Mustangs still didnt have enough horsepower to run home, losing 10-0 in the non-conference game.
Despite the loss, a single by Sophomore Pitcher Linda Sobeck #19 (Upper Merion Area High School, Early Education) in the second inning was a positive for the Mustangs. Sobeck also contributed 13 first pitch strikes on the mound.
Freshman Shioban Seymour #13 (Methacton High School, Criminal Justice) also went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Mustangs in hits.
Despite the loss, the Mustangs anticipate kicking off the following week with a comeback.
The Mustangs now have a conference record of 2-0, and an overall record of 2-6. The next conference event, the Mustangs will play home Tuesday, April 11th, in a double-headermake up against the Luzerne County Community College Trailblazers.
The Mustangs are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX and the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC).
