After losing 0-1 to the Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars early in the season, the Montgomery County Community College Mustangs stepped on the field with a win in mind.
The Mustangs wasted no time turning the tides on the Cougars, notching three goals in the first half. Freshman Jaron Kicinski started off the scoring for the Mustangs, followed by two goals from fellow freshman Joseph Lasher.
Up 3-0, the Cougars rebounded with a quick goal to start the second half. However, the point was countered with another Mustangs goal from sophomore Eric Sylvester.
The two teams battled for the rest of the time, but neither posted any more goals. The game ultimately ended in a 4-1 win for the Mustangs.
"We played with creativity and our players left everything on the field," commented Assistant Coach Edgar Martinez. "Our Mustangs manaded the grade of difficulty of playing on the turf field, even though we didn't have the appropriate cleats. It was good to bring home a win."
