The Mustangs men's soccer team lost 0-1 to the Delaware County Community College Phantoms Wednesday.
Despite poor field conditions, the Mustangs came out fast and strong in the first half. The team created a number of scoring opportunities early on but was unable to post to the score board.
About 30 minutes into the half, the Phantoms turned the momentum their way when one of the team's forwards made a 40 yard breakaway run from the midfield to the goal. The shot went in and set the Mustangs back 0-1.
The Phantoms played a defensive game in the second half to protect their 1-0 lead. The Mustangs were unable to penetrate the wall as the Phantoms stopped each rally. At the final buzzer, the Phantoms had held on to the lead for the 1-0 win.
