The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs men's basketball team defeated the Johnson College Jaguars 72-68 Saturday.
The Mustangs got off to a rocky start with a thin roster of six due to illness and injury. The team found themselves down 36-40 at half time, but did not let up and managed to outscore the Jaguars 36-28 in the second half. The Mustangs ultimately walked away with a four point win.
Chris Uhrich led the Mustangs with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Right behind him with 14 points each were Tre Bud and Ryan Casper, who also totaled six and five rebounds respectively. Dexter Shy gave a strong performance as well, notching nine points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Shane Isett matched his nine points and Cameron Green matched his 11 rebounds.
"This was a gritty, character win," commented Assistant Coach Patrick Boylan. As have been the past few games, Boylan noted, "Again, this was a total team effort."
The Mustangs are now 9-7 overall and 8-3 in the NJCAA EPAC. Next the Mustangs will take on the Roadrunners of Gloucester County College on Tuesday.
