The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs defeated the Bucks County Community College Centurions 102-80 Tuesday night.
The game opened with quick-paced action as the Centurions took an early 10-4 lead. But the Mustangs were able to keep pace and tie it up by the 10:00 mark, taking the lead 25-23 just second later.
Throughout the remainder of the first half the Mustangs continued to build their lead, concluding the period up 47-31. The second half showcased strong play by the Mustangs who outshot the Centurions again, clinching the win.
Sophomore Omar Askia led the Mustangs with 18 points, followed by freshman Tyreek Magruder with 12 and sophomore Jah'lil Williams with 11. Sophomore Darnell Clowney led in rebounds with seven, followed by Williams and freshman Greg Mendrzycki with six each. Clowney also led the team in assists with five and steals with two.
