Mustangs Baseball:  Mustangs Trail in Game 1

Blue Bell, PA-- The Mustangs were defeated 11-5 in game one on Sat, April 8th against the Raritan Valley Community College Lions in a non-conference game.

The Mustangs were up 2-1 coming into the 4th when the Lions responded with a four run inning. Although the Mustangs were able to get another run in the bottom of the fourth, they stilled trailed 5-3.

For the next two innings, the Mustangs had difficulty sending runners home as the Lions tacked on additonal runs in the 5th.

The Lions added four more runs in the top of the seventh, while the Mustangs could only muster in two more runs falling short of a win.

The Mustangs who scored in game on included Freshman Pitcher, Justin Wieand #21 (Boyertown Area SR High School/ Life Sciences) who accounted for two of the runs, as well as Freshman Catcher Joneur Nieves #16 (Spring-Ford Senior High School/ Phys Ed & Health), Freshman Infielder Dan Janoson #5 (Bishop McDevitt High School/ Phys Ed. & Health), Freshman Pitcher Ty Wolfel #30 (Pottstown/ Business Administration).

Nieves also had 2 RBI's for today, followed by Janoson, Freshman Infielder Adam McKinlay #33 (Plymouth Whitemarsh High school/ Business Administration) and Freshman Infielder Paul Mudrick #23 (Perkiomen Valley High School/ Business Administration) who contributed one RBI each.

By game two, the Mustangs made adjustments to secure a comeback win of 11-8.
