Game Recap: Mustangs On The Offensive In Sweep of York JV

BLUE BELL, Pa. - Despite the brisk, winter-like day Mother Nature provided for the baseball team's 2015 home debut, the Mustangs' bats were red-hot as they piled up 24 runs while allowing just one in a sweep of a doubleheader over the York College JV team on Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, the Mustangs combined for 10 runs over the second and third innings to take command in an 11-0 triumph.

Kevin Neumann's single plated the first two runs of the game and Luke Pollock and Mark Ferrier followed with an RBI each to give the team a 4-0 lead.

Pitcher Don Halbruner was stingy, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out 8 over the five-inning affair.

York College, meanwhile, hurt itself with a number of defensive miscues.

Montgomery exploded for six more runs in the third frame and cruised to the win.

In the second game, Matt Kellar drove in five runs in a 13-1 win. Remi Wachsmuth, Josh Persson and  Chuck Delagol handled the pitching duties over the five-inning game.

The Mustangs are back at home Sunday at noon when they host Chestnut Hill College's JV squad.
