Montgomery County Community College baseball team hosted a Veteran's Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 26 in a home game vs. Villanova University JV. The first pitch was thrown out by Montgomery County Community College student and veteran Joe Long. Joe served four years active duty with the United States Air Force as a member of Fire Rescue. Currently Vice President of the Student Veteran Organization at MCCC and will be taking over as club president in the fall. He is currently enrolled in his sophomore year as an engineering student.
The Mustangs defeated Villanova JV in the first game 8-4 and the Mustangs were defeated 7-8 in the second game of the day. The Mustangs season finale will be Wednesday, April 30 vs. Salem Community College at 3:30pm.
The Mustangs are members of Region 19 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
