Blue Bell, Pa. – Eight Montgomery County Community College student-athletes earned Academic All-American status in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference for the 2009-2010 competitive year. To qualify to be an EPCC Academic All-American, an athlete must earn a 3.5 GPA or higher, complete 24 credits, and compete in one full season of competition.
From the women's soccer team, liberal studies major
Stephanie Doran earned the honor, along with teammate and basketball player
Carla Sirak, also a liberal studies major. On the men's side, Eric Frankenfield, a physical education and health major, earned the honor as well.
In addition to Sirak, three other women's basketball players achieved the Academic All-American status, including general studies major
Jennifer Kopsie, liberal studies major
Lauren Zoltek, and secondary education major
Janay Winston. Winston also competes in softball at Montgomery County Community College.
From the baseball team,
Justin Risko, a secondary education major and
Kristian Von Kiel, a liberal studies major both achieved the Academic All-American status.
