Mustangs Soccer Summer 7's League Off & Kicking

BLUE BELL, Pa. - More than 25 high school and club soccer teams will descend upon the Central Campus of Montgomery County Community College this summer to compete in the 1st Annual Mustangs Summer 7's Soccer League, a fundraiser for the college's women's soccer team.

The action kicked off June 21st) with matches at 5, 6 and 7 pm.

Featuring high school teams from North Penn, Hatboro-Horsham and Perkiomen Valley as well as Club teams from Montgomery United and Whitpain, this six-week league is designed to be a competitive, yet fun league created to bring together serious soccer players in a positive, player-centric atmosphere, with an emphasis on freedom, fair play, and fitness.

"Montgomery County is a haven for some of the area's finest soccer players and we are thrilled to have so many of them on our campus this summer," said Director of Athletics Bruce Bach. "An example of the college's community outreach, this league will allow high school aged kids to showcase their talent while staying in shape this summer.

"The league we hope will become a summer staple here at Montco, while also benefitting our women's soccer program at the college."

Head Women's Soccer Coach Chris DePeppe and former head coach Ben Winderman will coordinate and run the league.

Girls' games are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, while the boys will play Wednesday evenings. All games will be played on 60x80 natural grass fields at MCCC's soccer complex, 340 DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell, PA. Fields are located on the south end of the campus behind the tennis courts. T-shirts will be provided for all teams.
