Student-Athletes Honored At Awards Reception

BLUE BELL, Pa. - Athletics were well-represented Friday at Montgomery County Community College's 2016 Student Awards Reception.

Four student-athletes -- including Julie Primavera, Marisa Christensen, Nicko Balis and Jaron Kicinski -- were among those recognized for their efforts in and out of the classroom as well as the contributions each made to the athletics program at the college.

Primavera, who played soccer, softball and basketball at Montgomery, received the Brian Brendlinger Award for Leadership & Involvement. Christensen, who also played soccer, softball and basketball, received the Alumni Association Award. Both Primavera and Christensen served as co-captains for the 2015-16 Women's Soccer team.

Balis and Primavera were honored as the Male & Female Student-Athletes of the Year. Balis played basketball for two seasons and was a key player for Head Coach Denny Surovec's squad.

Kicinski and Christensen each earned the coveted Mustang Award. Kicinski, a co-captain of the 2015-16 Men's Soccer team, was integral to his team's success.

Congratulations to these student-athletes! We wish them much success as they pursue their dreams both academically and athletically.
