Bob Kent Hired As New SID

Blue Bell, Pa - Montgomery County Community College's Athletics Department has announced the hiring of Bob Kent as its new Sports Information Director.

Kent joins the Mustangs after a 10-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he served as the club's Internet & Publications Manger, providing content for PhiladelphiaEagles.com and producing the team Yearbook and Gameday Magazine. He also operates his own public relations and web consulting business.

"We are excited to add Bob Kent to our Athletics staff," said Bruce Bach, Director of Athletics. "His passion for sports combined with his impressive experience make him a valued addition to our department."

In his role as SID, Kent is responsible for the distribution of sports-related information to the media and the community. He will also assume promotion, marketing and game-related responsibilities.

In addition to his time with the Eagles, Kent worked as a graduate assistant in Campus Recreation at Temple University, supporting the Intramurals department. He also worked as editor and correspondent for weekly newspapers in Northeast and Northwest Philadelphia.

Kent earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Temple University as well as his Master's in Sport & Recreation Administration. He received an Associate's degree in General Studies from Community College of Philadelphia.

Kent lives in Horsham with his wife, Shawn, and three children, Lauren, Andrew and Kathryn. He is an active coach/volunteer with the Horsham Soccer Assocition, Horsham Little League and Horsham HOOPS. He is an at-large borard member for Horsham Soccer.
