Intramural Athletics

Montgomery County Community College offers a wide variety of intramural athletics at the Physical Education Center on the Central Campus. Intramurals are team or individual activities designed for the student who wishes to participate in athletic competitions on a semi-formal or informal basis. Intramural athletics are offered for the benefit and enjoyment of all full and part-time students.

Games/activities are held Monday’s, Wednesday’s  or Friday’s: 12:30-1:15pm. Skill level is not important nor a prerequisite for participation. All students must be currently enrolled and have an updated student ID card.

Intramural Update 3/13/13

The Villains Win the 4 v 4 Intramural Basketball Championship!

The Villains defeated Handley Crew in the Championship Game 58-44.  They jumped out to a big lead early and never really looked back.  The Villains made 8 3-pointers in the first half in route to a 41-20 lead at the break.  Handley Crew came out strong in the 2nd half and played great defense to cut the lead to 10.  The 21-point lead was too much to overcome though and the Villains held onto the lead until the final whistle.  Handley Crew never gave up and didn't lose for lack of effort.  Villains won by a final of 58-44.  Congratulations to the Villains and to all of this years teams and participants. It was another successful season!

Handley Crew and Villains Advance to Championship Game

Handley Crew and The Villains advance to the Intramural Basketball Championship game which will be held on Wednesday, March 13th at 12:30pm.  Handley Crew defeated  The Rock by a score of 50-40 in Semi-Final 1.  They were down early, but grabbed a lead 5 minutes in and never let go.  They've now won 5 games in a row after dropping the first 2 of the season.  The Villains advanced by defeating CCG Club 64-46 in Semi-Final 2.  They grabbed an early lead and never looked back.  The Villains defeated Handley 52-41 in their regular season matchup.  Both teams look very different from that first game though.  Come check out a great Championship game Wednesday at 12:30pm.

Varsity Blues Wins Flag Football Championship

Varsity Blues defeated Team D 34-30 in the Annual MCCC Intramural Flag Football League to win the Championship.  They jumped out to a 22-8 lead after they returned an interception for a TD early in the first half.  The game was back and forth after that and was tied 22-22 at the half.  Then, Team D took a 2 point lead with 1:20 remaining.  Varisty Blues put together a quick drive and retook the lead with 25 seconds to play and that was too much for Team D to overcome.  Congratulations to Varsity Blues and all of their teammates and fans.  They finished the season with a 7-1 record after only 1 win last season.  Congrats to Team D for making the Championship after a very slow start to the season.  They finished 4-4-1.  Thank you to all the participants in this year’s Flag Football League.  It was another successful season!  Keep your eye out for upcoming Intramurals for the remainder of this Semester and next Spring as well.
